In 2023, Tearfund Latin America published a study on how the Church in Latin America and the Caribbean thinks about corruption and how faith communities might participate in good governance in the region. Some leaders of this research presented their findings with FPIN in June 2023 for a webinar commemorating Global Integrity Day (June 9). The presentation included background context on the situation of corruption in Latin American and the Caribbean and laid out a clear definition of corruption and its effects before going into their findings on the Church’s perception of corruption and it’s own prophetic function. This study found that the Church is a place of power and affirmed the importance of the Church in fighting against corruption in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Below, you can find the executive summary for Tearfund’s research in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French – available to view directly on the website and download. A presentation from the webinar with FPIN will be uploaded at a later date.
